The Renegade seats five passengers and still has 18.5 cubic feet of cargo room. With the seats down, the cargo area expands to 50.8 feet, above average for the class.
The Renegade is offered in four different flavors: the base Sport, the mid-range Latitude, the upscale Limited, and the four-wheel-drive-only Trailhawk. Special editions may also offered from time to time, and may vary by area.
Two engines are offered. The standard 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder puts out 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, and comes paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The available 2.4-liter four-cylinder provides a lift to 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Both engines are available with all-wheel drive in place of the standard front-drive setup.
The base model is fairly spartan, but does have power windows, power locks, and keyless entry. Also standard are 16-inch steel wheels and a four-speaker sound system. Air conditioning is available as part of the Power and Air group, which also adds cruises control and power mirrors. The Sound Group features two additional speakers and satellite radio.
